And at no other time is reading more important than at the beginning of a school year. What a great way to get interested, review skills, and impress the teacher. Kids encouraged to read or who are read to have a higher chance of success in school and throughout life.
Please take the time to read to your child or give your child books for their level of reading and encourage them to read to you. It's a great way to spend quality time!
And don't forget, teachers appreciate gifts of books too!
